Number Searching - Nfinder
Nfinder is a NameSearch® facility designed to build keys
and ranges on data that consists of letters and/or numbers. For
example: account numbers, social security numbers, and telephone
numbers. The input numbers/letters does not have to be contiguous.
For example, 123-45-6789, as in the Social Security format, will
be converted into the string -123456789.
xNfinder is used when we
want to consider more than 16 characters from the input.
While Nfinder will only consider the first 16 characters, xNfinder
can use up to
40 characters. In addition while Nfinder always builds 4 keys,
xNfinder can build
up to 20 keys for each input record.
